Military Prosecutor Denies Launching Investigation About The “Coup Diaries”

The office of the Military Prosecutor denied the claim in the news two days ago that it had launched its own investigation about the Ergenekon operation.

Office of the General Staff Military Prosecutor denied in a written statement the news that they asked for documents and information about the retired generals who were arrested in connection with the Ergenekon operation in order to start their own investigation.

According to the statement, the office of the Military Prosecutor is inspecting the documents that the office of Istanbul Public Prosecutor sent them on July 9 to determine whether or not these concern the military judiciary.

According to NTV’s report a couple days ago, the General Staff Military Prosecutor had called Zekeriya Öz, the prosecutor in charge of the Ergenekon investigation, and asked for the copies of all the information and the documents concerning Şener Eruygur and Hurşit Tolon, the retired generals arrested in connection with the Ergenekon investigation.
