Istanbul’s 13th High Criminal Court, which is getting ready to try the Ergenekon case on October 20, sent the157 page long attachment to the main body of the indictment about the 68 suspects to the lawyers of the accused.
The attachment includes a good volume of correspondence that the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) had with the Prime Ministry and the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Istanbul and many secret documents.
According to the document found in appendix 5 of the 45th page of the file and titled “The Fake Document About The Perpetrators of the Uğur Mumcu Murder”, a journalist murdered many years ago by unknown circles, the MİT states that the document which claims a group connected to the Israeli Intelligence Organization entered Turkey to murder journalists Mehmet Ali Birand and Uğur Mumcu is fake.
The file also includes a schema of the Ergenekon Organization that was prepared according to the information gathered from Tuncay Güney, who lives in Canada and made many explanations and comments about the organization.
The schema includes 69 people from various professions, including politicians, businesspersons and military personnel. However, the names other than Veli Küçük, Ali Yasak (Drej Ali) and Sami Hoştan are covered.
The file also includes the personal and secret communications of some of the people whose names have come up in the investigation about the Ergenekon Organization, existence of which was finally revealed after the 1993 murder of Uğur Mumcu, the Susurluk accident of 1996 and 13 month long investigation.
Talking about the connections between the organization and the non-governmental organization, the file also mentions the news reports that appeared in Germany and France about the accused. (EÖ/TB)
