Three people were killed and 14 others were injured when a bomb went off in the eastern Turkish province of Van on Thursday morning.
The bomb blast hit a municipal police vehicle near the district of Besyol. A Van city police officer was among the fatalities. Van police said the explosion occurred around 500 meters from the office of the Van governor.
An investigation into the cause of the explosion is underway with police suspecting a possible suicide attack.
Police have implemented intensive security measures in the city.
The attack has not yet been claimed by any organization. However, the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK/Kongra-Gel) has carried out many terrorist attacks in the region in the past. (YE)
